Implementation Planner

Implementation Planner

When to use it

Use the first part of the tool to plan and manage immediate tasks for your team. Then use the second part of the tool to help you decide what to prioritize by importance and urgency.

What’s the purpose

Implementation Planner is a simple way for your team to quickly decide who is doing what. It can be completed in minutes and is a great way to end team meetings to ensure that everyone is clear on next steps and who is accountable for making them happen. Overall, this template helps you to create an action plan for developing your prototypes into implementation plans and testing them with real users such as colleagues, stakeholders...

How to do it

  1. For each prototype that you want to implement write down:
    • Which team member will be responsible for creating it
    • What to do (action, by when)
    • Which implementation method will be used
    • Who you will get feedback from and by when
  2. If you have an outstanding actions list, you can use it now. If not, craft your action list before assigning any tasks.
  3. Allocate each action to a specific team member until you have no outstanding items left. If non-team members are required to complete key actions, add them at the bottom and assign the task of communicating this responsibility to one of the members of your team.
  4. Sometimes, it is important to prioritize some tasks of your action list. Copy the relevant sticky notes into the Priority Matrix.
